Marine propellers are mechanical means of moving a ship or a boat across water instead of using paddles or sails. Well made propellers minimise sound and vibration and increase speed and efficiency. Depending on usage and conditions, propellers can be custom made and/or different materials can be used to reduce corrosion and increase durability and strength of propulsion. Different material can also be used for less demanding conditions if need be. Propellers also come with various numbers of blades which affect speed and performance. Propellers that provide dual rotation allow for boat owners to control their boats more effectively with the ability to stop motion, reverse and steer. Different types of propellers include controllable pitch propeller which produce the least drag and allow vessels to move backwards; the skewback propeller which reduces cavitations and increases stealth; and the modular propeller which provides increased control over performance.
